CHANEL | Diana Reissue Jumbo Classic Flap Bag

The Chanel Diana Reissue bag released between late 2014 and 2015  is a modern tribute to the original 1990s classic. While it retains the iconic curved, smooth leather border framing the diamond-quilted panel, Chanel introduced several modern design and structural updates that distinguish it from the original vintage version. Unlike the original vintage Diana which only featured a fixed single strap, the 2014 reissue introduced four grommets at the top. This allows the chain to be doubled up to wear as a short shoulder bag, or pulled long to wear as a long shoulder or crossbody bag. The reissue version features a convenient exterior back patch pocket (Mona Lisa smile pocket), a classic Chanel trait that was completely absent on the standard vintage Diana models.  Inside the main flap, the modern reissue features an additional smooth slip pocket layered right under the front panel before reaching the main compartment. While vintage versions relied on shiny 24-karat gold plating, the 2014/2015 reissues were outfitted with a more contemporary brushed or matte antiqued gold hardware. The inner lining composition is a woven burgundy canvas inside the pockets and sliding compartments paired with smooth teal leather. It is one season-only limited run thats why it is considered extremely rare today.
